I wish to see more of ramla and hermeto's journey of living a cruel world worth living through each other until they can't no more
It quells the null...
Fantastic, atmospheric game that shows just what the Ren'Py engine can be capable of in creative hands. Fantastic artwork, stylish visuals and presentation, and an amazing glimpse into an incredibly compelling world. The prose is effortlessly powerful, and the themes--choice, death, grief, pain--are mature and thought-provoking. It is on the short side; though I believe that it is far better to leave a reader hungry for more than to overstay one's welcome.
The dynamic of a disabled individual and a caretaker is one I rarely see explored in fiction, and even more rarely still is it done well. Ramla and Hermeto's relationship is compelling and interesting. I really, really enjoy seeing disabled characters explored through lenses of fantasy, and while it is so often poorly done, Ramla's characterization feels uncannily familiar to my own life experience. I love Hermeto and yearn to learn more about him.
The world is compelling and interesting, and very little time is wasted on needless exposition. It is a small view of an immense and interesting world; Earthsea, Dark Souls and Elden Ring all come to mind. I really appreciate when stories allow a setting and its characters to speak for themselves.
Incredible work. The fact this was made for a Jam shows incredible skill and potential for the team behind it.
The most beautiful game I've had the honour of playing, truly, everything about it will stay in my mind for a long, long time.
The only thing that I find disappointing is the duration of the game. The potential that the plot and elements of this story has is insane. If you ever plan on releasing a longer game or prequel, I'd happily give you my wallet.
Amazing. Criminally underrated
Thank you. Reading it has made me feel less alone - so many of my own thoughts reflected at me. The paradox of wanting to be forgotten and wanting to be remembered exactly as you are with no misinterpretations, at the same time. The selfishness inherent with the choice to foist making a decision onto someone else, as opposed to the selfishness inherent to love and sacrifice. It reminded me of the courage that I have somewhere deep within, collecting dust, that I need to draw on to love myself, no matter how terrifying it is. Even if building a pain tolerance is comfortable, even if pretending that I want nothing is easier.
Incredible effort, thank you so much for your hard work!
this is just so extremely unique and amazing
I genuinely don't think i can recover from this game. The ending feels so perfectly bittersweet as well as every dialogue. The self doubt, the fear, the longing for freedom and choice yet feeling overwhelmed by it once you reach it is so well captured. I can't recall ever identifying so much with a piece of media, with both of the characters equally. It's so heartbreaking yet filled with a glimpse of hope and uncertain if you interpret it as a message about enduring the pain and trying to find something worth to live for despite it. Maybe that responsibility was also so overwhelming you chose death, none of it really matters and i see no point asking one's self if it's wrong to chase rest.
This VN is absolutely beautifully written. I can't even put into words on how much I love this. One of, if not, the BEST submissions in the Game Jam.
One of the most atmospheric visual novels I've ever read, furry or otherwise, the prose is beautiful, the tone grim but ultimately bittersweet. You really feel the weight of the self-doubt and old pains the main character has to wrestle with. Honestly wish this were expanded into a full length novel with how engaging the world and characters are! Very impressive jam entry and hopefully future classic.
For people who want to still enjoy the effects on the phone, I recommend JoiPlay, but there is no guarantee that it will work. Haven't tried my self yet 😅
I've really enjoyed reading this. The story and setting kept pulling me in and never missed a beat. I also really like the UI and art for this.
I could say the same to u 😋lol
Love your vn's 😝
Thank you
❤️🔥
This is such a rich story and world with inspired visual presentation. The backgrounds are stunning and create an incredible atmosphere, and there's really interesting design choices that elevate the storytelling (like the flashback sprites being on the left of the sceen).
This is clearly a world and story that asks to be engaged with again and again, and I can already see how multiple playthroughs will add more and more meaning to these characters.
I think this exploration of pain and the way it influences sexuality, among other things, was really, really poignant.
Immaculate, I must say.
An experience so unique. The characters, the worldbuilding, the everything.
Thank you for this game.
oh. my god.
This is so good, I really love the story, very tragic and touching. And I really love how we were given the choices in the end. Honestly, I want the ending to be absolute, the main character just get what he was looking for. But the choices really give me the burden, brings me deeper into it.
I have a lot more to say but it all still jumbled, processing the whole thing LMAO but it's worth the read that's for sure.
The choice was never yours to make until now, whether you like it or not.
Ediction does a wonderful job of simultaneously making you feel the burden of agency and the indignation of being robbed of it. Through the exceptional writing of inner and interpersonal dialogue, along with haunting yet striking visuals, you flesh out the true meaning and value of autonomy, going back and forth between freedom and convenience. You are then forced to make a choice, and whatever it is, it will mean something because it was yours.
Hah, looks like I'm one of the lucky ones with the 1.0 version of it. I like the new version for sake of accessibility but it also kind of detracts from the atmosphere a little. A choice or an option in the menu to hide the options menu in game would be nice.
Regardless,
the artstyle, the atmosphere, the music they all blended into an incredible experience. Your writings speak volumes.
(And I wish I could say just how much more great this experience is, however my words lack such convicitions yours' do)
This has been an utterly phenomenal read. So much atmosphere too! Thank you for the unique experience, it is safe for me to say that this will remain with me for a while.
An absolutely superb game. I'm amazed with what you've created in only a month. I really love it! The art's unique and beautiful, the story/writing is intriguing and artful, and the programming is tight, smart and fits the atmosphere of the game.
